Our Mini Aussie Project
The Australian Shepherd has long been loved and adored by families throughout the world; and despite the breed name - the "Australian Shepherd" is a breed that was actually founded and established in the United States.
In America, you can find Aussie Shepherd's in a range of sizes - however here in Australia, the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC, the pure bred and pedigree database for our country) only recognises the one original size for the Australian Shepherd.
The Breed Standard for the Australian Shepherd in regards to size, details a height between 45.5cm-58.5cm.
On average, these dogs weigh between 20kg-30kg.
The only way to reduce the size, is to cross breed the Australian Shepherd with a smaller breed of dog.
Though we love our AussieDoodles, the Poodle cross isn't for everybody - which is where this marvellous mix is a great alternative.
Other breeders in Australia have made attempts at bringing the size down using other breeds (such as Cavalier crosses which are more prone to heart disease, or Pomeranians which are very vocal dogs who tend to not only bark excessively - but are prone to luxating patellas) which are not the most compatible choice.
Though this is a foundation mix, the hybrid vigour will allow for a genetically robust, sound, and healthy dog.
The expected size of our Mini Aussies is under 20kg, at this stage expecting a range of 10-15kg roughly once mature.
Don't miss out on this rare opportunity, if you'd like the chance to welcome home one of these glorious puppies - submit an application form below.
